Here's a Gardiner entry that went from flat and forgettable to something that actually fits the home. We installed a natural flagstone walkway leading straight to the front door, and tied everything together with matching veneer stone along the foundation wall and bluestone treads on the steps. The result is cohesive - like it was always supposed to look this way.
The veneer stone work is what really anchors the whole entry. That layered, stacked look running along the base of the home gives it structure and weight. It pulls your eye right down the walkway toward the door. That's intentional. When stonework is done right, it guides you - it doesn't just sit there.
Flagstone is one of our favorite materials to work with for walkways because no two pieces are the same. Every slab fits together like a puzzle, and the natural texture gives you solid footing without looking overdone. Paired with the bluestone treads on the steps, you get something that's clean and timeless without trying too hard.
We're not done yet either. Cable railing is coming next, which is going to sharpen up the porch and give the whole front elevation a more modern edge. It's the kind of finishing touch that makes everything feel pulled together. Stay tuned for that reveal.
